PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for playing a network game are provided to allow a user to play a network game through networks using a TV set including a PVR system. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for playing a network game through a PVR system includes a tuner and demodulator(100), a digital unit(200), a server(300), and a plurality of external PVR systems(400). The tuner and demodulator receives a digital broadcasting signal and converts the digital broadcasting signal into digital streams. The digital unit accepts and stores the digital streams and processes the digital streams to realize a network game at the request of a user. The server allows the user to play the network game when an external PVR system is connected with a network at the request of the user. |
