PURPOSE: A roadway with safety structures is provided to protect wire ropes or posts against impact caused by a car crashing or falling rocks. CONSTITUTION: The roadway with safety structure contains: posts erected at regular intervals; a wire rope(30) installed to the post at regular distance; a coupler connecting each wire ropes; a splice(40) used to connect the coupler to the post; a coupling block(52) with a threaded end connected to the end of the splice by a thread connection; a coil spring(54) connected to the end of the connecting block; a connecting block(58) with a taper hole containing a clamp block used to fix the wire rope. Therefore impact caused by falling rocks added to the wire rope is absorbed by the coil spring and the coupler, so the post and the wire rope are safely protected.
