PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saw blade for which dressing and tooling are not required at all. SOLUTION: A base plate 6 consists of a circular disc-like metal plate and a plurality of slits 5 are radially provided on the outer peripheral part 7 of the base plate 6 and a plurality of segments 1 are either brazed or welded on the outer peripheral part 7 and comprises granulated superhard bodies. Apexes 2 of peripheries of the segments 1 are constituted into notched projections 4 with sharp apexes formed by tapered-down channels 3 and areas where the projections 4, etc., are brought into contact with an article to be cut being not illustrated are formed to 1-15% of the whole surface area formed by the circumscribed circle of the saw blade and widths of the segments 1, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
