摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus utilizing a photocatalyst capable of reducing the unit operation of water treatment and operation control cost, capable of effectively utilizing incident ultraviolet rays even if the surface area of the photocatalyst per a unit volume is made large and capable of being adapted to the mass treatment of water. SOLUTION: The water treatment apparatus (1) is equipped with a water treatment tank (2), which has an oxidation tank (3) where a peroxide is added to water to be treated containing a pollutant, honeycomb structures (4) having the photocatalyst supported on the surfaces of the honeycomb cells thereof and an overflow tank (5) for intercepting cleaned water arranged thereto, and ultraviolet irradiation parts (6) having ultraviolet lamps (11) arranged thereto. A plurality of the honeycomb structures (4) are arranged on the downstream side of the oxidation tank and the honeycomb cells formed to the honeycomb structures are inclined with respect to the flow direction of water to be treated. The ultraviolet irradiation parts are formed to the water treatment tank between the honeycomb structures or arranged above the water treatment tank. A sludge sedimentation tank (7) for collecting sludge sedimented through the honeycomb cells of the honeycomb structures is arranged on the bottom part of the water treatment tank.
