The proposed unit for testing service properties of lubricants contains a flywheel with a known mass and moment of inertia, a friction-producing unit, and the flywheel rotation frequency transducer. The output of the rotation frequency transducer is connected to the input of a computer. The flywheel is installed at the drive shaft so that the center of gravity of the flywheel is positioned below the center of gravity of the shaft bearing.
