PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of minimizing deterioration of the block rigidity and improving the hydro-planing resistance and the driving stability at the same time. SOLUTION: A sipe 32 bending in the depth direction is formed at the center of a shoulder block 24, and therefore, water stored at the center of the shoulder block 24 can be discharged from the block side to the outside through the sipe. As a result, the hydro-planing resistance to prevent the tire from floating can be improved. In addition, the inner walls of the sipe 32 are closely attached to each other in a wide range in a non-vertical part 32Y of the sipe 32 with the force working on the shoulder block 24 from the road surface, and therefore, the inner walls of the sipe 32 are prevented from slipping on each other, and deterioration of the rigidity of the shoulder block 24 can be prevented. As a result, the pneumatic tire can significantly improve the driving stability compared with a conventional pneumatic tire. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
