PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve more optimized X-ray intensity in multi-slice scanning. SOLUTION: This X-ray computer tomograph comprises an X-ray tube 10, a high voltage generator 21 for generating high voltage to be applied to the X-ray tube, an X-ray detector 11 having a plurality of X-ray detecting element trains, a scanogram generating part 43 for generating a scanogram in accordance with the output of the X-ray detector, a reconstruction part 36 for reconstructing an image in accordance with the output of the X-ray detector, tube current determining parts 41, 42 for determining a tube current value in accordance with pixel values for a plurality of pixels contained in a region of a two-dimensional portion of the scanogram, and a control part for controlling the high voltage generator in accordance with the determined tube current value.
