PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner in which the dust collection capacity of a dust collection chamber is increased by compressing dust in the dust collection chamber regardless of a quantity of the collected dust especially in the vacuum cleaner equipped with a cyclone dust collector. SOLUTION: A main body 1 of the cleaner is equipped with a cyclone dust collector 6 having a cyclone turning chamber 9 for turning sucked air and dust and a dust collection chamber 10 for collecting the dust separated in the cyclone turning chamber 9. Inside the dust collection chamber 10, a dust compressor 19 is provided for compressing the dust by scraping the dust inside the dust collection chamber corresponding to the inclination of the main body 1 of the cleaner.
