PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire extinguisher for a mosquito coil, capable of improving inconveniences of mosquito coil that the excessive fumigation of the coil for an unnecessarily prolonged time tends to cause indisposition by inhalation of the fuming smoke including the mosquitocidal agent, stain the room with the smoke, further may has the danger of fire with economic loss, in another case, the coil is forcibly broken or clipped at the burning position, when the coil is extinguished, but all of them are bothersome, in another case the coil is broken into short pieces and the pieces are nipped with a forked stand but this induces the waste use of the coil. SOLUTION: This extinguisher can be mounted to a mosquito coil having a rectangular cross section or a U-shaped cross section. When being mounted to a coil, the extinguisher can freely slide on the coil, as it is held on the coil. In addition, the extinguisher has a hole bored or a notch formed at least a part of the peripheral surfaces whereby a small mount of combustion ash remains thereon and the coil can readily be ignited again. In the meantime, the scale of time is preliminarily graduated on the mosquito coil body itself and the extinguisher is allowed to slide according to the time scale. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
