<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting instrument for ophthalmological microsurgery for accurately carrying out surgery by cutting without damaging the micro-tissue of an eye. <P>SOLUTION: This cutting instrument constituted as scissors has a housing formed as a handle with a functional unit disposed therein, and a probe is constituted as a hollow needle inside the functional unit and coaxially supports a rod-like part axially projecting from the probe. The cutting instrument comprises a cutting device at the distal end part. The cutting device can be constituted in arcuate or straight shape, and cutting edges correspond with each other at an acute angle in the open position and are engaged with each other in the closed position to perform cutting operation by the sliding motion of the probe moving to the end part of the scissors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
