<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power source overcoming the problems of accumulation and adhesion of blood clot which have obstructed the use of an electrosurgical apparatus, and to provide an electrosurgical system. <P>SOLUTION: The power source is used with an electrosurgical instrument with an electrode for causing the hemostasis of tissues during surgery, and provided with a circuit with output impedance of 20 Ω or less. The power source supplies substantially constant AC output voltage signals substantially not dependent on load impedance, to the electrode, and supplies voltage waveform with a peak factor smaller than the peak factor of sine wave at an effective value of 120 V or less. Preferably, the voltage waveform alternates at frequency between 100 kHz and 2 MHz, and the peak factor is in a range of 1-1.10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
