PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure of a bumper capable of restraining the increase of manufacturing cost, and surely absorbing a load in the case where a bumper stay is deformed due to a relatively small load from the load input side. SOLUTION: The mounting structure of a bumper has side members 20 extending along the forward/rearward direction of a vehicle and positioned on both sides of a vehicle 10, a bumper beam 21 extending along the vehicle width direction and positioned at the front or the rear of the vehicle 10, and a bumper stay 30 connecting the side member 20 to the bumper beam 21. One end of the bumper stay 30 is joined with the member 20, while on the upper and lower edges of the other end, a pair of ribs 32a and 32b whose tips are connected to the bumper beam 21, protrudes along the forward/rearward direction of the vehicle 10, and the ribs 32a and 32b are formed to be tapered seen from the top.
