PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for stably keeping the filtering capacity of a membrane filter apparatus, in treating wastewater discharged from a final washing process of cationic electrodeposition coating using the membrane filter apparatus. SOLUTION: An antibacterial agent is continuously or intermittently added to wastewater and/or a filtrate and membrane filtration is performed while suppressing the propagation of acid consuming bacteria and preventing a rise in the pH of wastewater.
