PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for plucking tea leaves, by which, for example, young buds and lower buds, can separately be plucked and received by only one travel and which can be applied also to the case of a plucking condition that the tea leaves desirably plucked with plucking blades disposed in a plurality of heights are separately not received, and to provide a tea leaf plucker used for the method. SOLUTION: In the tea leaf plucker having a travel machine frame 2, the cutting blades 31 of a plucking unit 3 are disposed at positions having a plurality of heights at multi-stages, and a receiver (receiving container 5) loaded on the travel machine frame 2 has openable dividers 52 for dividing the receiver into receiving chambers, or the like. When the tea leaves A plucked with the cutting blades 31, respectively, are received in the receiver, the receiving state can be selected from a separately receiving state for separate receiving the tea leaves and a mixture-receiving state for receiving the mixture of the tea leaves.
