The tool is provided with securement devices for mechanical pieces which at the end (2) of the tool comprises a ring-shaped throat (3) in which is fitted a ring of elastically deformable material (4) extending slightly outside of the throat and pressed into the throat by the mechanical piece when it is secured and the piece and the end of the tool are engaged in the other. The tool is a screwdriver and its end presents a polygonal exterior section and the ring is toric. The part (5) of the end of the tool located beyond teh ring is of circular section of a smaller diameter than the external diameter of the ring and equal or less than the diameter of the circle inscribed in the polygonal section.
