PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing device capable of banding a packed object irrespective of its size. SOLUTION: The packing device has a banding machine whose main body 14 is composed of a band feed mechanism, a band tightening mechanism, a band adhering mechanism, and an arch guide A for guiding a packing band fed from the band feed mechanism. A packed object 31 is positioned in the arch guide A, and the packing band 29 fed from the band feed mechanism is led to the arch guide A. By tightening the packing band 29 led to the arch guide A with the band tightening mechanism, the packing band 29 is disengaged from the arch guide A to be wound around the packed object 31 and is adhered to it with the band adhering mechanism. In this packing device provided with the banding machine structured to have these functions, an upside guide portion 20 of the arch guide A is provided in the same direction as the direction in which the packed object 31 is transferred, and other portions than this upside guide portion 20 are provided outside a transfer path of the packed object 31.
