PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which variation is eliminated in the replacing work of a print head and hands are prevented from being contaminated through the replacing work. SOLUTION: A leaf spring 54 is interlocked with the closing operation of a carriage cover 5 to press a print head 3 thus positioning and fixing the print head 3. Furthermore, an ink supply tube joint 6 inserted with an ink supply tube is guided to the fitting groove 34 of the print head 3 along the groove of a carriage 4 thus connecting the ink supply tube joint 6 with the print head 3 and securing the ink supply tube joint 6 thereto.
