PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer container, in which a flexible container containing the contents is easily housed and the opened flexible container can be stored so as to be self-supported and take out. SOLUTION: The outer container A for housing the bag-shaped flexible container 1 and safely storing it comprises the container body 4 formed as a box-shape fit to house the flexible container 1 straight, and a lid 6 having a ceiling plate 6a on which engaging slits, with which the upper end 1a of the flexible container is engaged and held, are formed at the opening end of the container body 4 so that the flexible container can be taken out. On the ceiling plate 6a of the lid 6, the engaging slits 7 consisting of a wider slit 7b and a narrower slit, with which the upper end of the flexible container is engaged and held, are formed longitudinally. The wider slit is provided with a lid 9 that can be opened and closed freely so that the upper end of the flexible container 1 is engaged and held with the engaging slits so as to be able to take the container 1 out.
