PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag that can be stabilized in the opening area and opening timing of a vent hole formed by a tear of tearable portions, in every air bag. SOLUTION: The air bag 10 has in a flexible peripheral wall 11 a slit group 18 of a plurality of slits 19 arranged in an interrupted line. With increasing internal pressure upon an inflow of inflating gas into the air bag 10, the tearable portions 25 between the slits 19 in the peripheral wall 11 are torn to form the vent hole 17 capable of exhausting the inflating gas, in the arrangement position of the slit group 18. A peripheral edge 23 of each slit 19 in the peripheral wall 11 has a melted and solidified portion 24 formed by solidification after melting. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
