PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for raising seedlings in a pool, by which bed soil in each pot does not float on the water surface after sowing seeds or planting seedlings in a pot to grow the seeds or the seedlings, and to provide culture soil for the raising seedlings. SOLUTION: The method for raising seedlings comprises a process of putting a nursery cabinet 3 charged with culture soil having≥1.10 specific gravity, in a pool. The culture soil for raising seedlings is desirable to contain≥40 wt.% of culture soil having the particle diameter of≤0.25 mm. By the method for raising seedlings and the culture soil for raising seedlings, the nursery cabinet 3 does not float on the surface of the water even when the level of the pool water reaches the upper part of the nursery cabinet. And thus, the nursery cabinet in the pool remains stable and the growth state of the seedlings each in a pot 2 is uniform. As a result, the raising seedling in the pot 2 is easily kept well when irrigating the nursery cabinet in the pool because the pot 2 does not move. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
