This invention relates to the branch of supply of air or gas to rotary calcining kilns, in particular to the actuation of gas-distribution valves. The valve has air inlet and outlet openings. The shutoff element is rotary installed in the body. The stem of the valve forms the axis of rotation and is connected to the shutoff element. The valve actuator is installed on the stem, at that it includes the actuator base connected to the stem of the valve, lever assembly, this is installed coaxially with the actuator base and the stem of the valve, mechanism of lost motion, this connects to each other the actuator base and lever assembly to transfer of torque from the lever assembly to the actuator base at rotation of the lever assembly. The mechanism of lost motion includes at least one springy unit placed between the actuator base and the lever assembly. In the case of the kiln back recoil the actuator of the valve promotes elimination of damages of the composite parts and preservation of sequence of opening and closing the valves.
