Secondary or tertiary hammer mill comprising a hopper (10) and a housing (8) in which a first upper rotor (1) with radially arranged hammers (3) and a second lower rotor (5) with radially arranged blades (6) are arranged so that, upon rotation of the rotors, the material to be crushed is thrown by the second rotor onto the first rotor. The number of blades are equal to the number of hammers and the relation between the diameter of the first rotor and the second rotor is 1,5-2:1 if the mill is a secondary and 4-7:1 if the mill is a tertiary mill.
