PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical position registering mechanism of a new structure which enables a first member and a second member such as a pressure receiving platen and a movable platen which are relatively displaced at a mold clamping device to be rapidly connected at a selected relative position by an appropriate locking mechanism. SOLUTION: Contact members 124 and 126 for regulation which are moved keeping a specified positional relationship with either of engaging parts 107 formed at a second member 32, following the relative displacement of the second members 18 and 32 to a first member 14, are provided. The position of an engaging member 100 is registered to a position where the engaging member 100 can be engaged with either of the engaging parts 100 by bringing the engaging member 100 supported by the first member 14 into contact with the contact members 124 and 126 for regulation.
