PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet cleaning system capable of saving a space. SOLUTION: For placing a sheet 101 to be cleaned in a sheet cleaning position of a sheet cleaning unit 111, the sheet 101 is moved to a sheet reversing unit 108 along the direction parallel to the shorter side of the sheet 101 (direction shown by arrow a) by a sheet conveying unit, and thereafter the upper and lower faces of the sheet 101 are reversed by the sheet reversing unit 108 with the direction of the longer side of the sheet 101 as a rotation axis as shown by arrow b, thereby placing the sheet 101 in the sheet cleaning position. For taking the cleaned sheet 101 out of the sheet cleaning position, the upper and lower faces of the sheet 101 are reversed by the sheet reversing unit 108 with the direction parallel to the longer side of the sheet 101 as a rotation axis as shown by arrow c, and thereafter the sheet 101 is moved along the direction parallel to its shorter side (direction shown by arrow d) by the sheet conveying unit.
