PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass piece separator that is capable of accurately separating foreign material attached glass pieces even if they are fine glass pieces, and that enhances the regeneration and recovery rate of the normal glass pieces by improving the credibility in detecting the foreign material attached glass pieces. SOLUTION: The glass piece separator is provided with a flow passage forming means 6 that forms the flow of glass pieces 1 to be separated, a sensor 8 that detects the foreign material attached glass pieces 9 to be separated and removed from the flow of the glass pieces 1 optically, and a separation means 12 that separates the detected foreign material attached glass pieces 9 from the flow of glass pieces 1. Further, the glass piece separator is provided with a plurality of sensors 8 to detect the equivalent position among the flow of the glass pieces 1 from the different angles. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
