PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive vulcanizer for a large tire which facilitates dismounting without requiring accessories such as operating machines for partitioned segments or a design change in tire pattern. SOLUTION: The vulcanizer for a large tire 1 which is equipped with a lower mold 2 having mold faces to mainly shape a lower sidewall part and a lower half tread part of an unvulcanized tire and an upper mold 3, being movable to and off the mold 2 and having mold faces to mainly shape the upper sidewall part and an upper half tread part of the unvulcanized tire. Groove shaping ribs 8 are detachably fitted on the mold faces for the treads 5 and 7 to shape mainly the lower half and the upper half of the tread respectively, wherein at least the surface of the groove shaping ribs 8 are made of an abrasive resistance lowering material.
