PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop a main body of a vacuum cleaner on a step of the stairway without slipping down the stairway when cleaning the stairway by improving the structure of the vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: The front side of the main body of the vacuum cleaner is formed outside a car so that the lower side of the grasping part of a dust collection chamber can be abutted on the surface of a step where the car is positioned while placing at an edge of an upper step and on both the sides of a lower surface on the front side of the main body of the vacuum cleaner, roller casters are provided for placing at the edge of the upper step. When cleaning the stairway, the main body of the vacuum cleaner can be stopped on the surface of the step where the car is positioned without slipping down the stairway. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
