<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a WORM-type optical recording medium in which optical recording can be performed at a high speed and the optical recording can be performed at a high speed and with a weak power, and recorded information can be stored for a long time under a good condition, and to provide a method for optical recording using this. <P>SOLUTION: The WORM-type optical recording medium 1 has a base sheet 40, a protective layer 30 and a recording layer 10 arranged between the base sheet 40 and the protective layer 30 and in the WORM-type optical recording medium, and a recording mark 13 containing an eutectic alloy is formed on the recording layer 10 by a laser light being incident from the base sheet 40 side when recording is performed. A dielectric material layer 21 between the protective layer 30 and the recording layer 10, and a dielectric material layer 22 between the base sheet 40 and the recording layer 10, are provided. Thickness of the recording layer 10 is at most 50 nm and the recording layer 10 has for example, a reactive layer 11 with Si as a main ingredient and a reactive layer 12 being brought into contact with the reactive layer 11 and with a metal element being eutectic with Si when recording is performed as a main ingredient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
