PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method and a cutting apparatus almost simultaneously cutting and separating a plurality of product blanks of various sizes from a long workpiece. SOLUTION: The method of cutting the long workpiece W into the plurality of product blanks comprises turning the workpiece W around an axis, sequentially starting cutting from a cutting means 17 on a leading side of the workpiece W among a plurality of cutting means 17 arranged in a longitudinal direction of the workpiece W and simultaneously cutting the workpiece W with the plurality of cutting means 17 to sequentially cut and separate the product blanks from the leading side. A workpiece turning means 7 for turning the long workpiece W at a predetermined position, the plurality of cutting means 17 arranged in the longitudinal direction of the workpiece W for cutting the workpiece W, and a time difference feeding means for giving and feeding a time difference to each cutting means to sequentially start cutting from the cutting means 17 on the leading side of the workpiece W are provided, and the cutting means comprise water jet nozzles.
