<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for printing variable data which add a performance required for optimizing a raster image processor (RIP) memory that employs memory bands in a page edition process. <P>SOLUTION: Documents including both recurring elements and non-recurrring elements are rearranged into element lists corresponding to their frequency of recurrence and their overlap position. Recurring elements are retained in a rasterized form while non-recurring elements are rasterized at a time when the elements are used by an output memory. One pass assembly when elements are processed by raster image processing is generated when recurring elements are blitted into the memory and variable elements are processed by raster image processing during the operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
