IMAGE RECORDING MEDIUM FOR INKJET PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve gloss and a color range of an image formed on an inkjet recording medium.

SOLUTION: An image recording medium for an inkjet printer comprises (a) a sheet of a solvent-absorbing microporous material comprising a matrix of a substantially water-insoluble thermoplastic organic polymer and a substantially water-insoluble filler particles. The image recording medium is characterized by the sheet of the microporous material having (b) a polyester coating and amount of this polyester being selected in such a way that the image obtained from the recording medium has higher gloss and color density in comparison with the image obtained from an uncoated microporous material.
