PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire with improved safety by preventing trouble in a bead part under a severe condition of using the tire for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The carcass 5 of the tire consists of at least one turn-up carcass ply 5A with a turn-up part rolled up to the outside from the inner side of the tire around a bead core 7 and at least one down carcass ply 5B covering the turn-up carcass ply 5A with the final end disposed near the bead core 7. A pair of reinforcing members 9 extending in the circumferential direction are disposed on the outer surface of the down carcass ply 5B in the axial direction of the tire, and the inner edge part of each reinforcing member 9 in the radial direction of the tire is located at least 1.4 times higher from the bead base than the radius of curvature R (based on the standard of the outline of a rim in the JATMA Year Book 2001) of the flange of the used rim.
