PURPOSE: A method for processing events having a hierarchical structure in a communication equipment is provided to rapidly inform an operator of the state of the data transmitted by a communication equipment in real time. CONSTITUTION: A communication equipment reads all event information(41). The equipment initializes a variable E to 1(42). The equipment checks whether the 1st event occurred actually(43). If the 1st event didn't occur, the equipment checks whether the variable E is larger than 7(50). If the variable E is smaller than or equal to 7, the equipment increases the variable E by 1(51) and returns to step 43. Then, if it is confirmed that the 2nd event occurred actually, the equipment checks whether the 2nd event is the uppermost event(44). As the 2nd event is not the uppermost event, the equipment checks which event is the upper event of the 2nd event(45). The equipment confirms whether the upper event of the 2nd event occurred actually(46). The equipment confirms whether the 1st event is the uppermost event(48). The equipment checks whether the 1st event occurred(49). As the 1st event didn't occur, the equipment returns to step 50, recognizes that the variable E is smaller than 7, increases the variable E by 1, and returns to step 43 again.
