PURPOSE: Provided is a processed ginseng extract which increases the ginsenoside portion by mixing the ginseng with other medicinal herbs, and extracting the mixture. It is used as a medical treatment and a health food to make treatment for impotence, blood circulation, energy boosting, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, antithrombosis, stroke, brain function improvement, and anticancer agent. CONSTITUTION: A processed ginseng extract or a saponin isolation extract thereof has a ginsenoside ratio of (Rg3+Rg5)/(Rb1+Rb2+Rc+Rd) reaching 10-45. A method of processing ginseng comprises the steps of: adding water to 100 pts.wt. of ginseng, 10-1000 pts.wt. of a mixture of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) H. Baill, Crataegi fructus, japonica, citron, trifoliate orange, apple, pomegranate and orange, and heating the mixture at 70-120 deg.C for one to six hours; and cooling the mixture up to the room temperature, and filtering and concentrating the mixture to form an extract solution or powder. |
