<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of a user, and to improve a utilization factor of an apparatus using consumables by providing the user with information on a supplier of the consumables such as a new recording head and an ink tank together with a prewarning before using up the consumables. <P>SOLUTION: When detecting that an ink residual quantity is little (Step S2), a usable period of residual ink is calculated (Step S3), and when the period is within a prescribed period, a button for ordering the ink is displayed together with a warning of the ink residual quantity (Step S5).
