摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that transmission loss increases in high- transmission of 2.5 Gbps signal transmission rate for conventional signal transmission paths and optical modules and there being limitations on the location of feed-through provided for external signal input. SOLUTION: The optical module is equipped with an optical element 1, a carrier 3 provided with the optical element 1, a first substrate 15 with a junction ground conductor joined at the upper surface of the carrier 3, a second substrate 18 with a junction ground conductor joined at the upper surface of the carrier 3, and a case comprising sidewalls provided with conductor line paths. The conductor line paths of the respective ends of the first and second substrates are mutually connected by a connection conductor, and there is a space on the conductor line path side of at least one of either the end of the first substrate or the end of the second substrate, while the first substrate 15 is connected to the optical element 1, and respective ends of the first and the second substrates are joined to each other on the carrier 3.
