An assembly for producing a three-dimensional object based on a series of values, each value corresponding to the position of a point on the object's surface. The assembly comprises a machining tool (5) adapted for machining a work-piece (6) and an industrial robot (2) having at least five axes, a transforming means (10) for transforming said series of values to position instructions for the axes of the robot, the robot being arranged for performing the movements in accordance with the position instructions and performing said machining of the work-piece in cooperation with the machining tool (5) based on said series of values, so that the three-dimensional object is produced. A method for producing a three-dimensional object based on a series of values, each value corresponding to the position of a point on the object's surface. The method comprises transforming the series of values to position instructions to an industrial robot having at least five axes, wherein the movement of the robot is controlled in accordance with the position instructions, so that the robot in cooperation with a machining tool performs a machining of a work-piece, by which the three-dimensional object is produced. |
