PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to measure time for an action recorded in a moving image from image data. SOLUTION: An image capturing unit 51a captures a moving image of a desired period necessary for measuring time of a sport action from a DV camera 26. The image capturing unit 51a works out a time instant that each frame comprising a moving image is taken based on moving image signals from the DV camera 26, and stores the results in an HDD 42 as a time table TBL together with the captured image data MP. One frame in the image data MP is selected in a frame selection unit 51b in accordance with a mouse operation by a user. A starting point specification unit 51c specifies the selected frame as a starting point. An elapsed time from the starting point to any frame in the frames comprising the moving image is calculated in an elapsed time calculation unit 51d using the time table TBL. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
