<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new luminaire for a vehicle distributing light using an oblique prism and improving the external appearance. <P>SOLUTION: This luminaire for the vehicle comprises, at least, a light chamber incorporating a light source and having a reflecting surface capable of reflecting the light of the light source to an opening side and an outer lens 12 covering the vehicle front side of the light chamber. Machining lines 16 and 17 formed by continuing intersections between a lens reference surface and a surface formed of a cylindrical shape are formed into prescribed oblique lines viewed from the front, so that the front/rear surfaces of the outer lens 12 are formed into an intersecting shape. The front surface is a prism whose vertical cross section is formed of a simple curved surface and the rear surface is a prism whose horizontal cross section is formed of a simple curved surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
