PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of reading both sides of an original and effectively preventing overrunning. SOLUTION: A storage means 40 stores image data temporarily stored in one of a front side buffer memory means 10a or a rear side buffer memory means 20a, and the other memory means only temporarily stores the read image data for that period.
