PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable picture editing on a digital camera by using operation members of an external apparatus. SOLUTION: The digital camera is provided with a picture editing means which edits a taken-in picture in accordance with operation instructions for picture editing given from external terminal equipment, so that picture editing can be performed on the digital camera in accordance with the operation instruction for picture editing sent from the external apparatus. Thus a picture editing system is constructed which enables a user to easily execute complicated processing for picture editing on the digital camera by effectively using an input mechanism of the external apparatus provided with many operation members.
