PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical recording medium suitable for high-speed recording. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the optical recording medium provided with a recording layer containing organic dyestuffs on a substrate includes a recording layer forming process step of forming the recording layer containing the organic dyestuffs on the substrate and a pressurizing process step of holding the substrate provided with the recording layer for≥0.5 second in a gaseous atmosphere pressurized by pressure above 19.6×104Pa.
