PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of integrally managing document knowledge. SOLUTION: The syntax interpretation of a text is operated to prepare knowledge constituted of one or more words, and to prepare a marked text where each knowledge is marked with a separation (underline shown in a figure 1) or a mark ('n' or 'e' shown in the figure 1) indicating which of a relation target (node) or a relation (edge) is pertinent to the knowledge from the part of speech. That is, the text is segmented into knowledge constituted of one or more words so as to be managed. Then, the knowledge extracted from the text is structured so that a knowledge structure (for example, graph structure constituted of the nodes and edges) can be obtained. Each knowledge structure element is able to set at least one link to the concept item of a hierarchized concept dictionary which is the closest to the meaning of the knowledge. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
