PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collapsible portable communication terminal the user of which can unfold it by one hand to open its main body section and display section even when the terminal receives a call-in signal, and can recognize incoming calls without relying upon sounds nor a vibrator. SOLUTION: This collapsible portable communication terminal is applied to a potable telephone set 1 which is constituted by connecting the main body section 11 having a surface on which a keyboard 11b is arranged and the display section having a screen 12b through a hinge, and can be so folded that the surface on which the keyboard 11b is arranged and the screen 12b are put together. The telephone set 1 has a motor 13a, a mechanism section 13b which opens and closes the main body section 11 and display section 12, and a switching circuit 27 which drives the motor 13a. The telephone set 1 also has a control section 27 which drives the motor 13a to cause the main body section 11 and display section 12 to alternately make half-opening actions and closing actions when the telephone set 1 receives a call-in signal while the set 1 is folded.
