<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium address modulating method for recording address data of high density on a pregroove, maintaining phase continuity without making a wobble carrier frequency high. <P>SOLUTION: In the modulating method for preliminarily recording address data on the pregroove of an information recording medium by using wobble modulation, a reference clock of a frequency f<SB>c</SB>is generated, each address data bit constituting the address data is respectively converted into a plurality of address channel bits b<SB>i</SB>, phase information related to each address data bit is respectively generated, and the value of each address channel bit b<SB>i</SB>is respectively modulated with an FSK (frequency-shift keying) method using (f<SB>c</SB>+f<SB>c</SB>/n and f<SB>c</SB>-f<SB>c</SB>/n) or (f<SB>c</SB>-f<SB>c</SB>/n and f<SB>c</SB>+f<SB>c</SB>/n) (however, n is integer) on the basis of the phase information and the reference clock. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
