<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly acquire and browse information with respect to merchandise on a network. <P>SOLUTION: When a user performs a prescribed information read operation, a portable telephone transmits radio waves to an RFID and calls it (S1). At the time of receiving a response from the RFID (S2, S3), access destination information and a merchandise ID are extracted (S4). Without waiting for an information acquisition instruction by the user, the portable telephone is automatically and immediately connected to an information server on the basis of the access destination information (S5).
