<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactify an information reader, to reduce its weight, and to read information with very high reading precision with a small light source energy. <P>SOLUTION: A scanner 3 for reading code information of a bar code label 1 comprises a light emitting means 13 comprising a laser diode 10, a ball lens 11 and a reflecting mirror 12, and a reflected light detecting means 16 comprising a photo-receiving lens 14 for transmitting a narrow wave range and a photo- diode 15 as a photo-receiving element, and the emission spectrum of the laser diode 10 is 650 nm of line spectrum. The laser diode 10 and the photo-diode 15 are provided on one substrate 17, the ball lens 11 and the photo-receiving lens 14 are attached to the first and second attaching openings 19, 20 of a holder 18, the first attaching opening 19 is functioned as an aperture, the ball lens 11 is attached to the opening 19, the photo-receiving lens 14 is attached to the second attaching opening 20, and the photo-receiving lens 14 is constituted of a narrow-wave range photo-receiving lens for exhibiting a function as a band-pass filter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
