PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of counter electromotive force in a motor coil, when a stepping motor is shifted to a high impedance state. SOLUTION: When voltage is applied to the motor coils 2 and 3 of the stepping motor 1 by a prescribed procedure and the stepping motor 1 is driven, both ends of the motor coil 3, to which voltage is applied, are grounded and one end of the coil 3, whose both ends are grounded, is made open.
