PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system and communication terminal device capable of improving the convenience from the viewpoint of user side by dispensing with a correction such as formation of a composed image to an image inputted in a communication terminal device. SOLUTION: A portable terminal 100 comprises an image input part 104 such as camera, a display part 105, an operation part 107 comprising switches 1-3 and the like, and a communication part 108. A host terminal 200 comprises a character string DB 207, a recognition part 208 for recognizing a pattern in the image, a character string related table 212, a history table 213, a history storage part 214, a table reference part 215, and a communication part 216. The host terminal 200 receives transmitted image data to perform a pattern recognition, and transmits the recognition result information of the image data to the portable terminal 100.
