PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for physically extending a dynamic range by assuming that a virtual range is added to upper and lower ends of the physical dynamic range so as to correct an image thereby obtaining an image equivalent to that of the case that the dynamic range is physically extended to correct the image. SOLUTION: The image processor includes: a read means 3 for sorting two kinds of data and reading the data; a shading correction data generating means 4 for generating correction data required to apply shading correction of a read optical system of the read means 3; a shading correction means 5 for correcting the shading of the read optical system; a virtual dynamic range extension means 6 for virtually extending the dynamic range of an image data bus; an image correction means 7 for correcting the MTF and the density of image data; a virtual dynamic range reduction means 8 for reducing the dynamic range virtually extended in the image data bus to the original size; an external connection means 9 for outputting the image data to an external device; a control means 1 for controlling each means; and an operation means 2 for applying an operation instruction to each means via the control means 1.
